4G LTE router Teltonika Networks RUT956 (GLOBAL) — priemyselný mobilný router s Dual-SIM a rozšíreným networkingom

The Teltonika Networks RUT956 (GLOBAL) is an industrial 4G LTE cellular router developed for continuous, managed internet connectivity over mobile networks. Supporting global LTE bands and dual SIM operation, the RUT956 is built to provide resilient WAN access, secure remote management and flexible routing for machine-to-machine (M2M), IoT, and business network applications. The device includes advanced networking features and configurable failover options to maintain connectivity for remote sites, branch offices and mobile deployments.

Advantages

The RUT956 offers dual SIM failover to improve availability and supports a broad set of LTE bands for global coverage. It provides advanced routing, VPN and firewall capabilities to enable secure remote access and segmented network topologies. Rugged industrial design and multiple interfaces make the router suitable for continuous operation in non‑office environments. Centralized management and telemetry support simplify deployment at scale and ongoing maintenance.

Suitable for

• Failover WAN / backup internet for business networks and branch offices
• M2M and IoT connectivity for remote sensors, telemetry and control systems
• Mobile broadband for vehicles, field sites and temporary locations
• Secure remote access and VPN termination for administrators and service providers

When it may not be suitable

The RUT956 is optimized for cellular connectivity and industrial deployments; it may not be the best choice for environments that require only a basic home router with consumer features such as built‑in Wi‑Fi access for many client devices or multimedia streaming optimizations. For networks that demand very high aggregated wired throughput beyond typical LTE speeds, a dedicated wired WAN device or link aggregation solution could be more appropriate.

Key specifications

• Cellular: 4G LTE support with multi‑band coverage for global use
• SIM: Dual SIM support with automatic failover
• Interfaces: Ethernet LAN/WAN ports and multiple I/O for industrial integration
• Security: Integrated firewall, VPN client and server support
• Management: Remote device management and telemetry support for centralized control
• Operating environment: Industrial design for continuous operation in field conditions

How to use

Install the RUT956 in a location with adequate cellular signal and connect the primary and backup SIM cards. Configure the device via its web interface or centralized management platform: set up APN credentials for your mobile operators, define WAN failover rules, configure firewall policies and establish VPN tunnels for secure remote access. Connect local devices to the router’s Ethernet ports and verify connectivity and routing. Use the management tools to monitor link status, data usage and device health.

What to consider before purchase

• Check cellular band compatibility and coverage with the target mobile operators and deployment region
• Confirm power and mounting requirements for the intended installation site
• Evaluate required interfaces (number of Ethernet ports, I/O) to ensure integration with existing equipment
• Plan for SIM provisioning, data plans and expected monthly throughput to match usage

Recommendations

For reliable operation, place the router where it receives the best available signal, configure dual SIM failover with distinct operators when possible, and enable ongoing monitoring through the management platform to detect and respond to connectivity issues promptly.
