Sieťový modul HP Enterprise 8-Port 10GBase-T J9546A-RFB

HP Enterprise 8-port 10GBase-T J9546A-RFB is a network module that provides eight RJ‑45 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports for compatible HPE networking chassis. Designed for copper-based 10G connectivity, this module enables use of standard Cat6A/Cat7 cabling to deliver 10 Gbps links over short to moderate distances. It is intended for integration into HPE switch chassis that accept the J9546A-RFB form factor and supports common 10GBase-T deployments such as server uplinks, aggregation and access-layer switching where copper cabling is preferred.

Advantages

The module offers eight 10GBase-T RJ‑45 ports in a single, chassis-mounted unit, reducing the need for additional transceivers and external patching equipment. Providing 10 Gbps over copper eliminates immediate fiber upgrades in environments with existing structured copper cabling. The plug-in form factor simplifies installation and replacement within compatible HPE chassis. Use of standard Ethernet signaling and RJ‑45 interfaces ensures broad compatibility with 10G-capable networking equipment and servers.

Suitable for

• Server uplinks requiring 10 Gbps copper connections
• Aggregation of multiple 1/10G switches in a chassis
• Access-layer switching where copper cabling is already installed
• Data center or wiring closet deployments with Cat6A/Cat7 cabling

Key specifications

• Brand: HP Enterprise
• Model / MPN: J9546A-RFB
• EAN: 5711783977964
• Interface: 8 × RJ‑45, 10GBase-T
• Port speed: 10 Gbps per port (10GBase-T)
• Cabling: copper (Cat6A or better recommended for 10G)
• Form factor: chassis network module for compatible HPE switches

How to use

Install the J9546A-RFB network module into a compatible HPE chassis slot following the chassis manufacturer’s procedure for hot-swap modules or powered-down installation. Connect each RJ‑45 port to Cat6A (or better) copper cabling terminated to the remote device or patch panel. Verify link status and negotiate 10G operation in the switch management interface or via LED indicators. Ensure connected hosts and intermediate cabling support 10GBase-T to achieve full 10 Gbps throughput.

Recommendations

For reliable 10G performance, use Cat6A or Cat7 cabling, keep cable runs within specified 10GBase-T distance limits, and confirm chassis and switch firmware compatibility with the J9546A-RFB module. Monitor link statistics from the switch management to detect errors or negotiation downgrades and replace cabling or connectors if signal issues occur.
