Ploský vrták Bosch EXPERT SELFCUT Speed 16 x 400 mm (model 2608900343)

Bosch EXPERT SELFCUT Speed flat drill 16 x 400 mm (model 2608900343) is designed for fast, accurate drilling in wood and wood-based materials. The bit has a self-cutting tip that reduces effort and speeds up progress, and a long overall length for through-holes and deep drilling tasks in carpentry, door and window fitting, and furniture assembly.

Advantages

The self-cutting tip improves penetration and reduces the need for preliminary pilot holes. The 16 mm diameter and 400 mm overall length provide access for deep and through-hole drilling. The hex shank ensures secure mounting in chucks and quick bit changes. Optimised flute geometry promotes reliable chip evacuation for consistent drilling performance.

Suitable for

• Drilling through-holes and deep holes in solid wood
• Work with wood-based panels (plywood, MDF, particleboard)
• Carpentry and joinery tasks
• Door and window fitting
• Furniture assembly and cabinetmaking

How to use

Secure the flat drill in a compatible chuck or quick-change holder designed for hex shanks. Mark the drilling point and, if necessary, clamp the workpiece to prevent movement. Start drilling at moderate speed, applying steady pressure; allow the self-cutting tip to engage and feed the bit steadily. Withdraw periodically when drilling deep holes to clear chips and avoid overheating.

Recommendations

Use appropriate personal protective equipment, select a drill speed suitable for wood materials, and clamp the workpiece to ensure safe and accurate drilling. For best results in clean-through holes, support the exit side to reduce splintering.
