Key specifications

How to use

Install the drive into a compatible 3.5-inch drive bay or storage chassis that supports SAS connections. Ensure the host controller and RAID or storage management software recognise SAS drives and configure the array according to your redundancy and performance requirements. After physical installation, verify firmware compatibility and perform standard initialisation steps such as drive formatting, SMART monitoring setup and integration into backup or replication workflows. Follow your system vendor's guidelines for hot-swap procedures if the chassis supports online replacement.

Recommendations

Place the drive in an environment that meets enterprise temperature and vibration specifications defined by your server or storage vendor. Use appropriate RAID levels or data protection schemes for redundancy, enable drive health monitoring, and maintain regular firmware updates according to Seagate and system manufacturer advisories to ensure sustained reliability.
