Sieťový prepínač Lancom Systems LANCOM GS-3628XUP — 48× 2.5G RJ-45, L3, PoE, 1U, 164 Gbit/s switching

The LANCOM GS-3628XUP is a Layer 3 rack-mountable network switch designed for multi‑gigabit access and centralized Power over Ethernet delivery. The 1U unit provides 48 RJ-45 ports with mixed 2.5G and 1G operation, four additional SFP+ uplinks, and a switching capacity of 164 Gbit/s. It supports extensive IEEE networking standards including VLANs, link aggregation, STP variants, 802.1X port access control and modern PoE standards up to IEEE 802.3bt. Built for enterprise access and aggregation, this switch includes basic L3 features such as static routing and DHCP server capability, secure remote management and cloud integration for simplified configuration deployment.

Advantages

The GS-3628XUP combines multi‑gigabit access on a majority of ports with high total switching throughput, enabling high-performance connectivity for Wi‑Fi 6E access points and other bandwidth‑intensive devices while reducing bottlenecks in the access layer. Integrated Power over Ethernet up to IEEE 802.3bt (PoE++) with a high total power budget allows powering of demanding endpoints without additional local power installations. Built‑in Layer 3 functions such as static routing and DHCP reduce load on upstream routers and simplify internal traffic handling. Secure management and support for cloud orchestration make it suitable for centralized administration in distributed environments.

Suitable for

• Multi‑floor or campus access deployments with high density Wi‑Fi 6E APs
• Small and medium enterprise access/aggregation layers
• Environments requiring centralized PoE power for APs, displays or lighting
• Networks needing basic Layer 3 functions (static routes, DHCP) at the access layer
• Managed network estates that use cloud orchestration and secure remote management

How to use

Install the GS-3628XUP in a standard 19" rack using the included mounting brackets. Connect upstream aggregation or core links to the SFP+ uplinks and deploy access devices to the RJ‑45 ports, observing multi‑gig capability for devices that require 2.5G throughput. Use the web management interface, CLI or LANCOM Management Cloud to configure VLANs, static routes and DHCP settings. Configure PoE priorities and power allocation according to device requirements to avoid exceeding the unit’s total power budget. Apply access control (802.1X) profiles and secure management settings (SSH/SSL, SNMPv3 or TACACS+) before putting the device into production.

Recommendations

For deployments with Wi‑Fi 6E access points, place devices that require higher throughput on the 2.5G ports and reserve SFP+ ports for aggregated uplinks to the distribution/core layer. Plan PoE capacity by summing maximum port power requirements and allow headroom for peak consumption; enable port priority or scheduling if many high‑power devices are used simultaneously. Use VLAN segmentation and static routing to isolate high‑traffic wireless or IoT segments and reduce load on upstream routers. Regularly apply firmware updates and maintain secure credentials for remote management access.
