Spoločenská hra Ravensburger — My First Castles of Burgundy (detská úvodná verzia)

Ravensburger — My First Castles of Burgundy is a children’s introductory board game that adapts the core ideas of the Castles of Burgundy series into a simplified, age-appropriate format. The game uses modular castle tiles, dice-driven actions and an accessible scoring system to introduce planning, pattern recognition and basic resource management to young players. Components and rules are scaled down to suit children while retaining the spatial and strategic thinking elements of the original design.

Advantages

The streamlined ruleset shortens setup and playtime while keeping decision-making meaningful for children. Modular castle tiles and clear iconography make tile placement and scoring intuitive, supporting independent play or guided family sessions. Dice-driven turns introduce an element of chance that balances opportunities between players and helps teach probability and adaptive planning. Durable components and a compact box design make the game convenient for home, classroom or travel use.

Suitable for

• Family game nights with children learning basic strategy
• Early introduction to eurogame mechanics and spatial planning
• Educational settings focusing on turn-taking, counting and pattern recognition
• Short travel sessions or compact play spaces

Key specifications

• Target age: children (introductory level)
• Players: designed for small groups or family play
• Playtime: short to medium duration per session
• Core mechanics: tile placement, dice-driven actions, pattern matching
• Components: modular castle tiles, dice, scoring board and player markers

How to use

Set up the game by distributing player boards and a selection of castle tiles within reach. On each turn a player rolls the dice and uses the result to select or place tiles according to the simplified rules. Players place tiles on their personal castle area to complete patterns and earn points; scoring is tracked on the board using clear icon cues. The rulebook provides examples and step-by-step guidance to help children learn the sequence of actions and the interaction between dice rolls and tile placement.

Recommendations

For best results, play the first few rounds together with the child to demonstrate turn structure and scoring. Use the modular tiles to create progressive challenges: start with fewer tile types and gradually introduce more complex placements. The game also works well as an educational tool for counting, comparing scores and discussing simple planning strategies.
