Thin Client HP Elite t655 s AMD Ryzen Embedded R2314 2,1 GHz, 8 GB DDR4, 32 GB eMMC, IGEL OS, Wi‑Fi 6

The HP Elite t655 Thin Client is a compact endpoint designed for business use, powered by an AMD Ryzen Embedded R2314 CPU (2.1 GHz base, boost up to 3.5 GHz) with integrated AMD Radeon Graphics. It ships with 8 GB DDR4‑3200 memory, 32 GB eMMC storage and runs IGEL OS. Connectivity includes Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and Gigabit Ethernet, making it suitable for virtual desktops, cloud workspaces and secure office endpoints.

Advantages

The device combines a small form factor with commercially focused security and manageability. Its Ryzen Embedded processor and integrated Radeon Graphics provide capable performance for typical office applications and virtual desktop sessions. Modern connectivity options such as Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and Gigabit Ethernet support flexible deployment in wired and wireless environments while IGEL OS offers centralized endpoint management and hardened configuration.

Suitable for

• Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and remote desktop sessions
• Cloud workspace access and browser‑based applications
• Office productivity tasks: documents, spreadsheets, email and collaboration tools
• Secure shared workstations and kiosk-style endpoints

When it may not be suitable

This thin client is not intended as a replacement for a full desktop PC for heavy local workloads such as high-end 3D rendering, CAD or modern AAA gaming. Local storage (32 GB eMMC) and integrated graphics are optimized for endpoint and virtualised use rather than large local datasets or intensive GPU compute.

How to use

Connect the HP Elite t655 to a monitor, network and power source, then follow the IGEL OS initial setup to join your organization’s endpoint management platform. Use the built‑in networking (Wi‑Fi 6 or Gigabit Ethernet) to access VDI, cloud services or remote desktops. Administrative tools provide configuration, updates and security policies centrally, enabling IT to deploy standardized user profiles and connection presets for end users.

What to consider before purchase

• Intended workload: suitable for VDI and office productivity but not for heavy local GPU or CPU rendering tasks
• Storage size: 32 GB eMMC is limited for local file storage—plan for network or cloud storage if needed
• Operating system compatibility: ships with IGEL OS—ensure compatibility with your VDI or management infrastructure

Recommendations

For optimal performance in virtual desktop environments, connect via Gigabit Ethernet when available, keep IGEL OS and firmware updated through your management platform, and store large files on network or cloud storage rather than on the device’s 32 GB eMMC.
