DEUTER Guide 34+8 is a hiking backpack designed for multi-day treks and extended outdoor activity. With a total capacity of 34+8 litres, the pack balances carrying volume and organization to accommodate clothing, food and technical equipment. The model Wave‑Ink features an adjustable harness and back system that allows load distribution adjustments to improve comfort and stability on varied terrain. Multiple compartments, external attachment points and compression straps provide flexible storage and attachment options for trekking poles, ice axes and additional gear.

Advantages

The backpack integrates an adjustable back and harness system to fit different torso lengths and to position the load close to the body for better balance. Its main compartment plus additional removable or expandable 8-litre section provide layered storage options for day-to-day access and longer-haul packing. External attachment points and reinforced loops enable secure carrying of technical tools and accessories, while compression straps stabilise the load and reduce movement during walking. How to use

Adjust the back length and harness to match your torso before loading the pack. Place heavier items close to your back and centered low in the main compartment to maintain stability. Use the expandable 8-litre section for items you may need to access quickly or to separate wet and dry gear. Secure technical tools to the external attachment points and fasten compression straps to reduce internal movement. Balance side pockets and hip-belt pockets for frequently used items such as maps, snacks and a headlamp.

Recommendations

For comfortable long-distance use, perform a load test on a short hike after fitting adjustments to confirm balance and strap tension. Regularly inspect attachment points and compression straps for wear, and redistribute weight if you experience instability on steep or technical sections.
