ACT optický adaptér SC duplex singlemode OS2

The ACT Fiber optic SC duplex adapter EA3002 is a single-mode SC/SC coupling designed to join two SC-terminated optical fibers with minimal signal degradation. Housed in a blue-coded body for quick identification of single-mode links, the adapter provides a stable mechanical connection and consistent optical performance suitable for telecom and data center environments.

Advantages

This SC duplex adapter delivers low insertion loss and high return loss for reliable single-mode transmission. Its robust construction resists mechanical wear and maintains alignment for repeatable mating cycles. The blue color coding simplifies installation and maintenance by clearly indicating single-mode connections. The compact duplex format saves space in patch panels and distribution frames while ensuring secure connector seating.

Suitable for

• Single-mode fiber patch panels and distribution frames
• Telecommunication links and long-distance fiber runs
• Data center interconnects and server room cabling
• FTTx premises and access networks

Key specifications

• Connector type: SC duplex (SC/SC)
• Mode: Single-mode
• Color coding: Blue (single-mode identification)
• Insertion loss: Low (typical values suitable for high-performance links)
• Return loss: High (designed for minimal back reflection)
• Housing: Durable material for repeated mating
• Form factor: Compact duplex for space-efficient installations

How to use

Align the SC connectors of the fiber patch cords with the adapter ports and push until the connectors click into place to establish the optical connection. Ensure cables are clean before mating; use appropriate fiber cleaning tools to remove dust or contaminants from connector end faces. When disconnecting, press the connector latch and pull straight out to avoid stress on the fiber. Install the adapter in a compatible panel or flange following the panel manufacturer’s mounting instructions.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, inspect and clean connector end faces before each connection, avoid excessive bending of fiber cables near the adapter, and use proper strain relief and cable management to prevent mechanical stress. Match the adapter to single-mode SC connectors and follow standard fiber handling procedures to maintain low insertion loss and high return loss.
