Ensure the battery compartment cover is secured and test the device. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and recycling programs for alkaline cells.

Recommendations

Store unopened batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and metallic objects. Do not mix new and used batteries or different battery chemistries in the same device. Keep cells out of reach of children and seek immediate medical attention if swallowed. For devices with continuous or high current draw, consider using a battery type specified by the device manufacturer.
