The ROG Azoth X is a 75% custom gaming keyboard designed for gamers and keyboard enthusiasts who require precision and versatility. It comes with hot-swappable ROG NX V2 mechanical switches and dye-sublimated Stellar-themed keycaps that combine durability with enhanced RGB shine-through. A south-facing PCB improves compatibility with various switch and keycap profiles, while a gasket mount, an FR4 positioning plate and five dampening layers work together to produce a refined typing experience. The keyboard includes an OLED display with a three-way control knob, tri-mode connectivity including 2.4 GHz ROG SpeedNova wireless, a silicone wrist rest, three tilt angles and Mac support.

Advantages

The three-sided semi-translucent dye-sublimated keycaps amplify RGB lighting for clear legends and a distinctive look that resists wear. Hot-swappable ROG NX V2 switches allow easy customization and support more keycap profiles. The FR4 positioning plate and multi-layer dampening system (one silicone layer plus four PORON® layers) reduce vibration and switch pinging while delivering a lower-pitched, crisp typing sound. Tri-mode connection (Bluetooth up to three devices, 2.4 GHz SpeedNova, or wired USB) and the OLED display with intuitive knob control make the keyboard flexible for different setups.

Key specifications

  • Form factor: 75%
  • Switches: Hot-swappable ROG NX V2 mechanical switches

  • PCB: South-facing

  • Connectivity: Tri-mode — Bluetooth (up to 3 devices), 2.4 GHz (ROG SpeedNova), USB wired

  • Backlight: RGB multicolour

How to use

Connect the keyboard using the desired mode: pair via Bluetooth to one of three supported devices, plug in the 2.4 GHz receiver for low-latency wireless with ROG SpeedNova, or use the USB cable for a wired connection. Use the OLED display and three-way control knob to view system information and adjust settings. Install or swap ROG NX V2 switches without soldering and fit compatible keycaps onto the south-facing PCB. Attach the silicone wrist rest and set one of the three tilt angles for a comfortable typing position.

Recommendations

For best results, use compatible keycaps designed for south-facing PCBs and test different switch and keycap combinations to find your preferred typing feel. Keep the keyboard firmware updated and refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for Mac-specific configuration and tri-mode pairing steps.

Nezávislé recenzie technických médií

pcgamer.com
6/10

Verdikt: To complete the look, Asus could've, and should've, done more to shake up the ROG Azoth X compared to its predecessor, the ROG Azoth. As it stands, it's practically a new colourway and little more for the Azoth, with no real reasons to spend the extra cas...

Výhody
  • Good silicone wrist rest
  • It's different
  • Smooth linear switches
Nevýhody
  • Considerably more expensive than the original, and very similar
  • Azoth
  • Lighting isn't as bright as I'd like
  • No shinethrough legends
  • Screen is a bit pointless
