Balenie SYNOLOGY DS223 + 2x SEAGATE ST8000VN004

The Synology DS223 bundle pairs a compact 2-bay NAS with two Seagate IronWolf 8TB drives, delivering 16TB of reliable storage without the complexity of larger systems. Unlike typical entry-level NAS kits that ship diskless or with generic drives, this bundle includes NAS-optimized IronWolf hard drives with rotational vibration sensors and AgileArray technology, ensuring smooth operation in always-on environments. The DS223 itself runs on the proven DiskStation Manager (DSM) platform, offering an intuitive interface for file management, backups, and media streaming.

Highlights

• Includes 2x Seagate IronWolf 8TB NAS hard drives (ST8000VN004) pre-installed for 16TB total raw capacity
• 2-bay desktop NAS with Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) for easy drive failure protection
• Quad-core Realtek RTD1619B processor and 2GB DDR4 memory for smooth multitasking
• Gigabit Ethernet port and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports for fast transfers and expansion
• Supports up to 20 IP cameras with Surveillance Station (2 free licenses included)
• Low power consumption: only 17.34W in access mode, 4.08W in HDD hibernation

In daily use

The DS223 handles everyday tasks with ease. Stream 4K media to your smart TV via DLNA or Synology's media apps, back up multiple computers with Active Backup for Business, and sync files across devices with Synology Drive. The included IronWolf drives are built for 24/7 operation, with a 7200 RPM speed and 256MB cache per drive for responsive performance. The NAS supports Btrfs and EXT4 file systems, giving you advanced data integrity features like snapshot replication and self-healing. With SHR, you can start with one drive and add a second later for redundancy without rebuilding the array.
