Aktívny optický kábel CBO SFP28-AOC-5M 5 m SFP28 AOC pre 25-Gbit/s pripojenia

Active Optical Cable CBO SFP28-AOC-5M is a 5-meter SFP28 AOC developed for 25Gbps network links. It connects SFP28 ports directly across short distances in data centers or server rooms without separate transceivers, offering a compact optical connection for switch-to-switch, switch-to-server and rack-to-rack links. The cable is intended for short-reach high-speed connections where low latency and reduced power consumption are priorities.

Advantages

The SFP28 AOC delivers full 25Gbps bandwidth over a 5 m optical assembly while eliminating the need for discrete transceiver modules, simplifying installation and inventory management. Compared with copper direct attach cables, this optical cable reduces electromagnetic interference and typically lowers power consumption and heat generation. Its plug-and-play form factor supports easy deployment and hot-plug operation in compatible SFP28 ports.

Suitable for

• Data center switch-to-switch connections
• Server-to-switch links inside racks
• Rack-to-rack short-reach interconnects
• High-density networking environments requiring 25Gbps lanes

Key specifications

• Connector type: SFP28 optical connectors on both ends
• Data rate: 25 Gbps per lane
• Length: 5 meters
• Type: Active optical cable (integrated transceivers and fiber in single assembly)
• Latency: low-latency optical transmission suitable for high-performance applications
• Power and thermal: lower power consumption and heat generation compared with equivalent copper DAC at similar lengths
• Compatibility: designed for use with SFP28 ports supporting AOC assemblies

How to use

Install the Active Optical Cable by inserting each SFP28 connector into the corresponding SFP28 port on network devices until it latches. The integrated optical transceivers are hot-pluggable, so connection can be made without powering down equipment, provided the connected devices support hot-swap operation. After physical installation, verify link status and speed in the device management interface and check that 25Gbps operation is negotiated where supported.

Recommendations

Use the 5 m SFP28 AOC for short-reach links within racks or between adjacent racks; avoid tight bends in the cable assembly and maintain manufacturer-recommended bend radii to preserve optical performance. Ensure firmware and port settings on switches and servers are configured for SFP28 operation and verify compatibility with vendor equipment before deployment.
