AOC SFP+ CBO Fortinet SFP-AOC-10G-15M 10G 15m aktívny optický kábel

AOC SFP+ CBO Fortinet SFP-AOC-10G-15M 10G 15m active optical cable is a pluggable SFP+ form-factor active optical cable designed to provide 10 Gbps duplex connectivity over a 15 meter multimode optical link. The cable is intended for short-range, high-speed interconnects between switches, servers and storage devices. Compared with copper direct attach cables (DACs), this active optical cable reduces power consumption and latency while maintaining a compact, hot-pluggable interface suitable for dense rack-to-rack and data centre topologies.

Advantages

The AOC design offers lower weight and reduced electromagnetic interference compared to copper options, and the SFP+ module form factor enables straightforward insertion into compatible transceiver ports without additional adapters. With a 15 m reach and 10 Gbps line rate, the cable supports high-throughput links across racks or within equipment rows while delivering consistent signal integrity and thermal characteristics typical for active optical solutions.

Suitable for

• Rack-to-rack 10 GbE interconnects in data centres
• Short-range links between switches, servers and storage arrays
• High-throughput aggregation and spine-leaf topologies
• Environments requiring reduced EMI and lower cable weight

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ pluggable transceiver form factor
• Data rate: 10 Gbps duplex
• Link length: 15 meters over multimode fibre
• Connector type: integrated SFP+ plugs (duplex optical link)
• Operating temperature range: suitable for typical data centre environments
• Power and latency: lower power draw and reduced latency compared with equivalent copper DACs

How to use

Insert the SFP+ connectors into compatible SFP+ ports on each device until the module latches. Ensure transceiver ports on both ends are enabled and configured for 10 Gbps operation in the host devices. Verify link status through device LEDs or management interfaces, and confirm that link negotiation and VLAN or network settings match your network design. Handle the cable by the connector housings and avoid tight bends to preserve fibre integrity.

Recommendations

For reliable performance, route the cable with a gentle bend radius and avoid repeated stress near the connector. Use in pairs for duplex links and verify vendor compatibility lists if using third-party switches or firewalls. Monitor port temperatures and link status after installation to confirm stable operation.
