CBO aktívny optický kábel Ciena SFP-AOC-10G-30M 10 Gbit/s, 30 m, SFP+

The CBO active optical cable Ciena SFP-AOC-10G-30M 10Gbps, 30 m, SFP+ is a factory-assembled SFP+ to SFP+ optical link designed for 10 Gbps short-reach interconnections. It provides a fixed 30-metre optical cable with integrated SFP+ connectors, intended to replace separate transceivers and fibre patch cords for direct connection between switches, servers and storage devices in data centres and server rooms. The cable supports low-latency, energy-efficient optical transmission while maintaining the form factor and compatibility of an SFP+ port.

Advantages

The integrated design removes the need to install separate SFP+ transceivers and fibre patch leads, simplifying deployment and reducing inventory. As an active optical cable, it offers optical signal transmission that reduces electromagnetic interference and provides better reach than equivalent copper twinax assemblies. Plug-and-play SFP+ connectors ensure compatibility with standard 10Gbps SFP+ ports, enabling straightforward replacement of twinax or separate transceiver-plus-patch-cord setups.

Suitable for

• 10 Gbps uplinks between network switches in data centres
• Server-to-switch connections in server rooms and racks
• High-throughput connections to storage arrays and NAS systems
• Short-reach optical links where SFP+ ports are available

Key specifications

• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Length: 30 metres
• Connector type: SFP+ (integrated on both ends)
• Cable type: Active optical cable (AOC)
• Intended use: Short-reach 10Gbps interconnects between networking and server equipment

How to use

Insert each integrated SFP+ connector into corresponding SFP+ ports on network equipment while the devices are powered according to your equipment vendor's guidelines. The cable is plug-and-play and usually requires no additional configuration on modern switches and servers; confirm link state and speed in the device management interface after installation. Route the cable to avoid tight bends and mechanical stress; ensure both ends are fully seated in the SFP+ cages for optimal signal integrity.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use this AOC for in-rack or across-rack short-reach connections up to 30 metres. Avoid repeated sharp bends and excessive pulling force on the connectors. Verify compatibility with your networking hardware's SFP+ port list if vendor interoperability notes are required.
