SFP+ AOC kábel CBO Viavi SFP-AOC-10G-7M 10 Gbit/s, 7 m aktívny optický kábel

The SFP+ AOC cable CBO Viavi SFP-AOC-10G-7M is an active optical cable that delivers 10 Gbps connectivity over a 7-metre optical link. Built for direct attachment between SFP+ ports on switches, servers and other network appliances, this AOC integrates transceiver optics into the cable ends to remove the need for separate modules and patchcords. The design targets low-latency, power-efficient interconnects in environments that require compact, high-bandwidth links.

Advantages

The active optical construction provides stable 10 Gbps throughput across the full 7 m length with low insertion loss and consistent signal integrity. By combining transceiver and cable in a single assembly the product reduces port congestion, simplifies deployment and lowers system power compared with discrete transceivers plus multimode patch cables. The single-piece design also reduces the number of connectors and potential points of failure, improving reliability in densely cabled racks and blades chassis.

Suitable for

• Data centre top-of-rack and aggregation uplinks
• Interconnects between blade servers and chassis switches
• High-speed links between routers, switches and network appliances
• Applications requiring low latency and reduced port power

Key specifications

• Interface: SFP+ to SFP+ active optical cable
• Data rate: 10 Gbps
• Cable length: 7 metres
• Connector form factor: SFP+ housing on both ends
• Optical medium: active multimode optical assembly
• Typical use: short-range server and switch interconnects
• Power profile: low power consumption compared with discrete transceiver solutions

How to use

Insert each SFP+ module end into the corresponding SFP+ port on network devices until the latch clicks. Ensure devices are powered down or follow hot-swap guidelines provided by the equipment manufacturer before installation if required. After insertion, verify link status and speed via device LEDs or management interface. For removal, release the latch and pull the cable straight out to avoid stressing the port. No separate patchcords or transceivers are needed, simplifying setup and cabling layout.

Recommendations

Use in clean, temperature-controlled rack environments and avoid routing the cable near high-interference power cables. Keep bend radius within manufacturer limits, avoid excessive twisting and secure the cable to prevent mechanical strain on SFP+ ports. Confirm compatibility with switch and server vendors for SFP+ AOC assemblies to ensure full feature support and link negotiation.
