How to use

Adjust ISO, shutter speed and aperture according to the lighting and subject motion; ISO up to 6400 is available for low light but consider noise at higher settings. Frame using the optical viewfinder or the rear display, half-press the shutter to focus and fully press to capture. For video, set the camera to the movie mode and press the movie-record button; Full HD 1920 x 1080 is available for standard video needs. Connect via Wi‑Fi for image transfer or remote control from a compatible smartphone using Canon’s app.

Recommendations

For best image quality, use lower ISO values in well-lit conditions and stop down the aperture for increased depth of field when shooting landscapes. When shooting portraits, try the longer end of the 18–55 mm range and use wider apertures to separate the subject from the background. Clean the lens and sensor with appropriate tools and follow Canon’s maintenance guidance to preserve performance.
