Canon Extender RF 2x – Canon RF bajonet, hmotnosť 340 g, priemer 71,2 mm

The Canon Extender RF 2x doubles the magnification of compatible RF-mount lenses, extending effective focal length without the need to carry an extra telephoto lens. Weighing 340 g and measuring 71.2 mm in diameter, this teleconverter maintains lens mounting compatibility and is suited for photographers who need increased reach for distant subjects.

Advantages

The extender uses high-refraction, low-dispersion glass to control field curvature and reduce chromatic aberration at increased magnifications. Optimised lens coatings and a 3-layer combined lens design minimise ghosting by reducing air-contact surfaces. The exterior features a heat-shield white coating (also used on select Canon RF lenses) to protect optical performance at higher temperatures. The mechanical design prevents lens elements from contacting those of the extender, and the build includes vibration shock resistance along with dust- and water-resistance for reliable field use.

Suitable for (tasks / use cases)

• Wildlife and nature photography where greater reach is required
• Sports and action photography needing extended focal length
• Press and editorial photography for distant subjects

How to use

Attach the Canon Extender RF 2x between a compatible RF lens and a Canon RF-mount camera body following the usual lens mounting procedure: align the mount indices, rotate until it clicks, and ensure secure connection. Confirm lens and camera compatibility before use; some lens functions (autofocus speed, maximum aperture) may be affected by the 2x magnification. Handle the extender and lenses with care to avoid contamination of optical surfaces and reattach lens caps when not in use.

Recommendations

Use the extender with compatible RF telephoto lenses recommended by the manufacturer for optimal optical and autofocus performance. For handheld shooting, expect reduced autofocus speed and lower light-gathering capability due to the doubled focal length and effective aperture; use a tripod or monopod for increased stability when needed.
