CBO SFP28 AOC BlueOptics BO272703Q3M 3m aktívny optický kábel, 25 Gb/s, SFP28

CBO SFP28 AOC BlueOptics BO272703Q3M is a 3 m active optical cable with SFP28 connectors designed for 25 Gb/s links. The cable provides a short-reach optical connection between switches, network interface cards (NICs) and servers. Its hot-pluggable SFP28 form factor simplifies installation in standard SFP28 ports and enables compact routing in rack environments while offering lower power consumption and reduced latency compared with equivalent copper direct-attach cables.

Advantages

The active optical cable supports 25 Gb/s data rate and delivers stable high-speed transmission across a short 3 m distance, minimizing signal loss and electromagnetic interference. The SFP28 connectors are hot-pluggable for easy replacement or reconfiguration without powering down equipment. The optical medium reduces crosstalk and heat generation compared with copper, allowing denser installations in data centers and enterprise network racks.

Suitable for

• Short-reach 25 Gb/s uplinks between top-of-rack or leaf switches
• Direct connections from 25 Gb/s NICs to servers or storage appliances
• High-density patching in data center and colocation environments
• Latency-sensitive applications requiring compact cable routing

Key specifications

• Form factor: SFP28 on both ends for 25 Gb/s ports
• Length: 3 m
• Data rate: up to 25 Gb/s per channel
• Medium: active optical cable (AOC)
• Compatibility: designed for short-reach optical links between switches, NICs and servers
• Power profile: lower power consumption compared with equivalent copper direct-attach cables

How to use

Insert each SFP28 connector into the corresponding 25 Gb/s port on your switch, NIC or server until the latch engages. Ensure that both devices support SFP28 optical modules and that firmware or driver compatibility is maintained. No additional transceivers or patch panels are required; the AOC establishes the optical link immediately when both ends are seated. For safe removal, release the connector latch and pull the module straight out to avoid damaging the port.

Recommendations

Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and maintain the manufacturer’s minimum bend radius. Use proper port labeling to track connections in high-density racks and verify link status through device management interfaces after installation. For the best performance, keep fiber connectors clean and avoid exposing the cable to mechanical stress or excessive heat sources.
