Disk Tray Bezel Panel Synology Type R3 2,5/3,5"

The Synology Disk Tray Bezel Panel Type R3 is a replacement front bezel designed for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives and SSDs used in compatible Synology drive bays. With external dimensions of approximately 171 mm width, 105 mm depth and 26 mm height, the bezel provides a stable mounting surface and a finished front appearance for a single drive slot. The construction is intended to align with Synology chassis bay guides and to facilitate tool-free or screw-secured installation depending on the drive and enclosure.

Advantages

This bezel panel is dimensioned to match Synology bay spacing and offers consistent fitment for both 2.5" and 3.5" drives, reducing drive movement and improving airflow management at the front of the enclosure. The durable material and precise mounting points help ensure reliable seating of the drive and repeatable installation when replacing trays in multi-bay systems. The front bezel also restores the visual continuity of the chassis and protects drive edges from accidental contact.

Suitable for

• Replacing a damaged or missing drive bay bezel in compatible Synology enclosures
• Installing 2.5" SSDs or 3.5" HDDs into a Synology drive slot that uses Type R3 trays
• Maintaining consistent bay appearance in NAS units with hot-swap bays

Key specifications

• Compatible drive sizes: 2.5" and 3.5"
• External dimensions: ~171 mm (width) × 105 mm (depth) × 26 mm (height)
• Material: rigid bezel/plastic and metal mounting interface (as used in original equipment)
• Mounting: alignment points and screw locations matching Synology Type R3 bay design

How to use

Align the bezel panel with the drive tray or drive bay guide rails and slide the drive into the enclosure until the mounting points engage. Secure the drive to the tray with the appropriate screws if required by your drive size; some setups permit tool-free retention depending on the tray design. After installation, insert the assembled tray into the Synology bay and push until the latch or retention mechanism engages. Verify that the bezel is flush with adjacent bays and that the drive is seated correctly before powering the unit.

Recommendations

Handle the bezel and drive with care to avoid bending the mounting tabs. When replacing multiple bezels in a NAS, install one drive at a time and confirm system recognition before proceeding to additional bays. Use the original screws or manufacturer-recommended fasteners to maintain secure attachment and proper alignment.
