Edelrid OHM oceľová lezecká pomôcka zelená 8,9 mm priemer lana 450 g

The Edelrid OHM Steel Climbing Device Green is a second-generation assisted-braking resistor designed for rope-team climbing and belaying with ropes of at least 8.9 mm diameter. Constructed from durable steel and weighing 450 g, this updated OHM improves usability with a swivel-joint resistor that increases freedom of movement and ensures the clipping direction to the first bolt is no longer critical. The device includes a locking system that prevents accidental opening and simplifies rope insertion and removal during lowers.

Advantages

The swivel joint on the assisted-braking resistor improves articulation and reduces friction, making rope handling smoother when climbers of different weights share a rope. The steel construction provides high durability and wear resistance for frequent use. The updated locking mechanism enhances safety by preventing unintentional opening, while also making it easier to install the rope and to detach the device during lowering. Designed for straightforward operation, the device supports dependable assisted braking without complex setup.

How to use

Attach the Edelrid OHM Steel to the anchor or belay point according to the manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring secure clipping to the first bolt or anchor. Feed the rope through the device following the marked rope path, and confirm the locking system is engaged before applying load. When belaying in a rope team, orient the device so the swivel joint can articulate as the rope moves; clipping direction to the first bolt is less critical due to the swivel design. For lowering, use controlled tension and keep a hand on the brake strand to modulate descent while the assisted-braking resistor increases braking effect.

Recommendations

Use only with ropes meeting the minimum diameter specification, inspect the device for wear or deformation before each use, and follow all relevant climbing and rescue standards. Training and familiarity with assisted-braking devices are recommended before use in critical or rescue situations.
