How to use

Install a compatible double-width PCIe GPU card into the enclosure according to the manufacturer’s instructions, connect the enclosure to mains power using the supplied AC cable, and then attach the Thunderbolt 3 cable between the Sonnet enclosure and your Thunderbolt-equipped computer. If desired, connect a USB-C device to use USB Power Delivery up to 85 W. Power on the enclosure and the host computer; install any required GPU drivers for your operating system (note: macOS officially supports AMD cards in eGPU setups, while Windows supports AMD and NVIDIA). After drivers are installed, configure your applications to use the external GPU where applicable.

Recommendations

Use full-length, double-width GPU cards rated at or below the supported 375 W per card and ensure your host system supports Thunderbolt eGPU operation. Keep firmware and GPU drivers up to date, provide adequate ventilation around the enclosure, and verify OS compatibility for your chosen GPU vendor before purchase.
