Externé USB 2.0 SATA puzdro na optickú mechaniku Qoltec 51863 čierne

The Qoltec External USB 2.0 SATA Optical Drive Case Qoltec 51863 Black houses 12.7mm SATA optical drives and provides a compact external enclosure for CD, DVD or other SATA-based optical drives. Designed for portability, the enclosure connects via USB 2.0 and offers plug-and-play operation with a range of operating systems. Its black finish and slim profile make it suitable for mobile use and occasional access to optical media without installing an internal drive.

Advantages

This external optical drive case supports standard 12.7mm SATA optical drives and enables quick conversion of an internal drive into a portable USB device. The USB 2.0 interface provides broad compatibility with desktops and laptops, while the simple plug-and-play setup requires no driver installation for most systems. The enclosure’s black exterior offers a discreet, uniform look that integrates with common computer equipment.

Suitable for

• Accessing data from CD or DVD media on systems without internal optical drives
• Using an existing 12.7mm SATA optical drive as an external drive for backups or software installation
• Portable optical media playback or recording when travelling or working remotely

Key specifications

• Compatible drive type: 12.7mm SATA optical drives (CD/DVD)
• Interface to host: USB 2.0
• Enclosure colour: Black
• Form factor: external, slim enclosure for optical drives

How to use

Install a compatible 12.7mm SATA optical drive into the enclosure following the mechanical guidance of the case (align the SATA connector and secure the drive). Connect the enclosure to a computer using a USB 2.0 cable; the device should be recognized automatically on most operating systems via plug-and-play. Once connected, use the optical drive as you would an internal drive for reading or writing discs, ejecting discs with the drive’s button or software eject command.

Recommendations

Handle the optical drive and enclosure on a stable surface and avoid excessive force when inserting or removing discs. For best performance, connect to a USB 2.0 port directly on the host computer rather than through unpowered hubs, and ensure the installed drive is a 12.7mm SATA optical unit to guarantee mechanical and connector compatibility.
