Gaffer tape Tesa 53949 — 50 m x 50 mm, strieborná tkaninová lepiaca páska

Tesa 53949 gaffer tape is a heavy-duty cloth adhesive tape in silver, 50 m long and 50 mm wide. It combines a strong cloth backing with a solvent-free adhesive formulated for secure temporary fixing. The tape tears easily by hand along its length, adheres well to a variety of surfaces and is designed to be removed with minimal residue, making it suitable for stage, studio and technical applications where reliable but non-permanent fixation is required.

Advantages

The cloth backing provides high tensile strength and controlled tearability, allowing fast application without cutting tools. The adhesive offers strong initial tack and good adhesion to fabrics, wood, painted surfaces and many plastics while being formulated to reduce adhesive transfer on removal. The silver colour gives a neutral, low-reflective finish that conceals cables and markings and withstands moderate mechanical stress and foot traffic.

Suitable for

• Securing and routing cables on stage and in studios
• Temporary fastening of lighting and audio equipment
• Marking floors and creating non-reflective signage
• Protecting surfaces during installation or transport
• General-purpose repairs and bundling on site

Key specifications

• Length: 50 metres
• Width: 50 millimetres
• Material: cloth backing with pressure-sensitive adhesive
• Colour: silver
• Tearability: hand-tearable along the length
• Removal behaviour: designed for minimal residue after temporary use

How to use

Cut or tear the required tape length and press the adhesive side firmly onto a clean, dry surface. For best adhesion, smooth the tape onto the substrate to eliminate air pockets and ensure full contact. When fastening cables, apply the tape with moderate tension—avoid overstretching—to prevent stress on the adhesive and the cable. To remove, peel back slowly at a low angle; for older or heavily loaded tape, warm the adhesive slightly with your hands or a heat source to ease removal.

Recommendations

Store the tape in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For long-term or outdoor applications, verify adhesion and ageing behaviour on a sample area before extended use. Avoid applying to sensitive surfaces such as delicate paints, wallpapers or varnishes without testing, and do not rely on the tape for permanent structural loads.
