HAMA 221057 is a universal remote control with integrated solar charging and 8-in-1 functionality designed to replace and operate up to eight compatible IR devices. The compact, battery-free design collects ambient light to power the unit and supports common remote control functions for TVs, set-top boxes and other infrared-controlled home electronics. Its slim profile and straightforward button layout suit living rooms and multimedia setups where simplified device management is needed.

Advantages

The solar-powered operation removes the need for disposable batteries and reduces maintenance, while the 8-in-1 learning capability consolidates multiple remotes into a single handset. Its infrared compatibility covers a wide range of consumer electronics brands, and the compact ergonomic design makes it comfortable for everyday use. The device provides quick access to standard functions and helps reduce clutter on coffee tables and media centers.

Suitable for

• Controlling TVs and smart TVs that accept IR commands
• Operating set-top boxes and satellite/cable receivers
• Managing DVD/Blu-ray players and audio systems with IR receivers
• Simplifying multi-device setups in living rooms and home theaters

Key specifications

• Power source: integrated solar charging (ambient light operation)
• Device capacity: controls up to 8 IR devices
• Control type: infrared (IR) signal transmission
• Form factor: compact, handheld remote with ergonomic button layout
• Compatibility: designed for a broad range of consumer electronics brands supporting standard IR codes

How to use

Place the remote in a well-lit area to ensure the internal solar cell receives sufficient ambient light for charging. Follow the supplied pairing or learning instructions to program the remote to each target device, typically by entering a code or using the automatic search/learn function to capture IR signals from the original remotes. Use the clearly labeled buttons to control power, volume, channel, and playback functions. If a device does not respond, repeat the learning sequence or adjust the orientation of the remote so the IR emitter faces the target device's receiver.

Recommendations

Keep the solar panel unobstructed and avoid storing the remote in dark enclosed spaces for extended periods. For reliable operation, point the remote directly at the device’s IR receiver and maintain a clear line of sight. If ambient light is low, expose the remote to brighter light temporarily to restore charge before attempting programming or extended use.
