The Sony LinkBuds Open are lightweight wireless in-ear headphones designed to provide an open, ambient listening experience through a specially engineered 11 mm ring driver. The ergonomic shape and air cushion keep each earbud securely in place while allowing environmental sound to pass through, making them suitable for all-day wear and active use. Built-in battery power provides long playback times and quick charging, and the earbuds include Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in microphone for calls and media control.

Advantages

The open ring driver design delivers balanced sound while preserving awareness of surroundings. At just 4.8 g per earbud and with an ergonomic air-cushion fit, the LinkBuds Open are comfortable for extended wear and physical activity. Sound processing (DSEE) restores high-frequency detail lost in compressed audio, and the on-device EQ in the companion app lets you tailor sound to preference. Multipoint Bluetooth and multiple control options (tap, voice, app) increase usability, and the case extends total playback time. Recycled plastics in the product and fully plastic-free packaging reduce environmental impact.

Suitable for

Everyday listening while staying aware of surroundings
Phone calls and remote work
Commuting and walking
Light sports and active use
Listening to compressed music with restored high frequencies

Key specifications

Driver type: 11 mm ring driver
Frequency response: 20–20,000 Hz
Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.3, up to 10 m range
Microphone: built-in
Battery life: up to 22 hours total (earbuds ~8 h, charging case ~14 h)
Quick charge: ~1 hour playback from a 3-minute charge
Weight: ~4.8 g per earbud; product weight 63 g including case
Wearing style: in-ear (intraaural) with air cushion
Colours: available in multiple colours; additional interchangeable covers sold separately

How to use

Place the earbuds in your ears so the air cushion sits comfortably in the ear canal and the housing rests securely. Pair the earbuds with a Bluetooth-compatible device using the standard pairing procedure in the Bluetooth settings or the Sony headphones app. Use taps on the earbuds, voice commands, or the app to control playback, calls, and EQ settings. Return the earbuds to the charging case when not in use to recharge the batteries and extend total playback time.

Recommendations

For best results, update firmware and use the Sony Headphones Connect app to adjust the EQ and enable features like Multipoint Connection. For extended comfort during long sessions, ensure correct fit of the air cushion and take periodic breaks.
