This precision-crafted neutral density filter reduces light by exactly 3 stops, allowing you to use wide apertures in full sunlight or extend shutter speeds for stunning waterfall, cloud, and crowd-free street photography. Built for the Irix Edge MMS filter holder system, this drop-in filter is the ultimate tool for landscape and travel photographers who demand both performance and portability.

Overview

The IRIX Edge MMS Drop-in Small ND8 Filter is a rectangular drop-in filter designed specifically for the Irix Edge MMS (Modular Mounting System) filter holder. It uses a 67mm optical diameter and fits seamlessly into the holder's small slot. The ND8 filter blocks 87.5% of incoming light, transmitting only 12.5%, which equates to a 3-stop exposure reduction. This lets you slow down your shutter speed by a factor of 8, perfect for capturing movement in water, clouds, or people.

At its heart is high-quality optical glass with Irix's Super Resistant (SR) coating. This multi-layer coating minimizes reflections, reduces flare, and ensures excellent color neutrality—no unwanted color cast. Additionally, the glass features hydrophobic and oleophobic layers that repel water, oil, and dust, making it easy to clean and perfect for challenging outdoor environments. The slim aluminum alloy frame adds durability without adding bulk, and the drop-in design allows for quick and secure installation.
