Kábelový gender changer ShiverPeaks BS78423

The ShiverPeaks BS78423 Cable Gender Changer converts between a D-sub 25-pin connector and a D-sub 9-pin connector, allowing direct connection of devices with different D-sub configurations. Designed for signal continuity and straightforward interoperability, the adapter features nickel-plated contacts for improved conductivity and resistance to wear. Its grey housing provides a neutral appearance that fits professional and technical environments. This cable gender changer is intended for use where a direct one-to-one connection is needed without rewiring or replacing existing cables.

Advantages

The gender changer offers reliable contact performance thanks to nickel-plated contacts that reduce oxidation and maintain consistent signal transmission. Its compact, passive design requires no power or drivers and enables quick, tool-free connection between D-sub 25-pin and D-sub 9-pin interfaces. The grey finish gives the adapter a neutral look suitable for racks, workstations, and industrial setups, while the compact size minimizes cable clutter.

Suitable for

• Connecting legacy serial or parallel equipment to devices with different D-sub pin counts
• Temporary test setups and bench diagnostics where adapters are needed
• Small office or industrial installations requiring direct physical compatibility between connectors
• Interfacing routers, modems, PLCs, or measurement instruments with mismatched ports

Key specifications

• Connector types: D-sub 25-pin to D-sub 9-pin
• Contact plating: nickel-plated contacts for enhanced durability
• Design: passive gender changer, no active electronics
• Color: grey housing
• Physical form factor: compact inline adapter for direct mating of D-sub connectors

How to use

Plug the appropriate D-sub connector of the gender changer into the matching port on the first device and connect the other end to the second device. Ensure connectors are aligned and seated firmly to maintain good contact. No software or power source is required; the adapter acts as a direct mechanical and electrical bridge between the two connector types. For secure connections in environments with vibration, use any available fastening screws or strain relief on the connected cables.

Recommendations

Use this adapter in dry, indoor environments and avoid exposure to liquids or corrosive atmospheres to preserve the nickel plating. Verify signal compatibility between connected devices — the adapter maps physical pins between the two connector types but does not perform signal conversion or protocol translation. For mission-critical connections, periodically inspect contacts for dirt or oxidation and replace the adapter if mechanical wear affects connection integrity.
