The Canon PG-545XL/CL-546 Black and Color ink cartridges deliver high-quality prints with sharp black text and vivid color reproduction. Designed for everyday office and home printing, the black cartridge provides an extended page yield while the color cartridge reproduces photos and graphics with consistent accuracy. These cartridges are compatible with a range of Canon inkjet printers and are intended for straightforward installation and routine replacement.

Advantages

These cartridges combine higher capacity for monochrome documents with balanced color performance, reducing the frequency of replacements for text-heavy tasks while maintaining accurate color tones for images. The cartridges are engineered to work with Canon printers to ensure predictable color management, consistent droplet placement, and minimal clogging when used under normal conditions.

Suitable for

• Printing business documents and letters with clear, sharp black text
• Producing color flyers, presentations and school projects with reliable color rendering
• Home photo and graphic printing at typical consumer sizes
• Everyday printing where a mix of text and occasional color images is required

Key specifications

• Cartridge types: separate black (high-yield) and tri-color cartridges
• Ink technology: dye-based color inks and pigment-based black ink for sharp text
• Compatibility: designed for use with multiple Canon inkjet printers (check printer manual for exact models)
• Capacity: higher page yield for the black cartridge compared with standard versions
• Physical format: replaceable cartridge modules for front-access installation

How to use

Install the cartridges following your Canon printer’s access instructions: open the cartridge compartment, remove protective seals, and insert each cartridge into its corresponding slot until it clicks into place. After installation, run the printer’s alignment or nozzle check routine if prompted to ensure optimal print head alignment and color balance. Use the printer driver settings to select paper type and print quality appropriate to your documents or photos.

Recommendations

Store unused cartridges in a cool, dry place and keep them in their original packaging until installation. If a cartridge has been idle for an extended period, run a head cleaning cycle before printing important documents to reduce the chance of streaking or color shifts.
