The Knipex 49 21 A31 Circlip Pliers are professional-grade internal circlip pliers made from forged chrome vanadium electric steel with oil hardening. At 210 mm long and weighing 272 g, they feature a non-slip plastic handle and inserted spring-steel tips designed for reliable, continuous operation and precise handling of internal circlips.

Advantages

Inserted tips ensure reliable work and long service life, up to ten times longer than turned tips. Large contact faces on the tips prevent distortion of circlips and make fitting easier. A bolted joint provides precise, zero-backlash operation while the internal opening spring is protected and captive. The pliers body is forged chrome vanadium electric steel and oil-hardened for durability, and the handles have a non-slip plastic coating for secure grip.

Suitable for

• Removing and fitting internal circlips in machinery and gearboxes
• Precision assembly and maintenance tasks in automotive and industrial equipment
• Professional workshop and advanced DIY repairs requiring reliable circlip handling

How to use

Select the correct size of the Knipex 49 21 A31 for the internal circlip you need to remove or install. Place the inserted tips inside the circlip groove, squeeze the handles evenly to expand the circlip, then carefully remove or position the circlip. Release the handles slowly to allow the circlip to seat. Maintain a firm, controlled grip and ensure the tips engage the circlip securely to avoid slipping or damage.

Recommendations

Inspect the tips before use and replace pliers if tips are worn or damaged. Use eye protection when working with circlips and avoid excessive force; the bolted joint and robust construction are designed for repeated professional use. Clean and lightly oil the joint periodically to preserve the oil-hardened steel and ensure smooth operation.
