The Cherry G84-4100LCAGB-2 is an ultra-low-profile compact wired keyboard with an 83-key QWERTY layout and a 1.75 m cable. Its mini straight form factor and lightweight construction make it suitable for space-constrained installations such as office workstations, point-of-sale terminals, banking and medical environments, or portable and 19-inch rack systems. The keyboard uses Cherry ML-series mechanical keys for precise key action and includes LED indicators for Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock.

Advantages

This compact keyboard offers high precision from ML-series mechanical switches, exceptionally small physical dimensions and low weight for easy integration into slim-line PCs, notebooks or compact workspaces. Keycaps are arranged on an 18 mm grid for consistent typing feel, and reliability is supported by an MTBF of 170,000 hours and individual key lifetimes rated to 20 million key operations. The dual Combi USB/PS/2 interface ensures compatibility with both modern and legacy systems.

How to use

Connect the keyboard using the appropriate connector for your system: plug the USB connector into a free USB port or the PS/2 connector into a PS/2 keyboard port. Place the keyboard in the desired position; its compact size allows close placement to monitors or inside narrow enclosures. Use the standard QWERTY layout for typing and the numeric/lock LEDs to verify Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock status. For systems that support hot-plugging, the USB interface can be connected while the computer is running; when using PS/2, connect before powering on if required by the host.

Recommendations

For optimal longevity, avoid spilling liquids on the keyboard, clean key surfaces periodically with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and ensure the cable is routed to prevent excessive bending. Choose the interface that matches your system for best compatibility (USB for modern systems, PS/2 for legacy equipment).
