The Stanley Global Tape Measure 3m Yellow 0-30-487 is a compact measuring tool designed for accurate, everyday use in construction, woodworking and home improvement. Its bright yellow housing improves visibility on busy worksites and in dim lighting, while the blade displays clear metric and imperial graduations for versatile measuring. The case and blade construction focus on durability and straightforward operation, making the tape a practical choice when portability and quick, reliable readings are required.

Advantages

This tape measure combines a compact 3-metre blade with a high-contrast scale to support fast, accurate measurements. The lock mechanism secures the blade in place for stable readings and hands-free marking. The robust casing protects the blade from impact and wear, and the bright colour reduces the chance of misplacement on the job site. The tape’s size and weight are engineered for easy carrying in a pocket or tool belt.

How to use

Pull the blade out of the housing to the required length and align the zero mark with the start point of the measurement. Hold the case firmly against the reference surface and extend the blade until it reaches the target. Engage the lock to hold the blade in position for marking or reading. To retract, release the lock and guide the blade back into the case to avoid rapid retraction that could damage the blade or casing.

Recommendations

Store the tape in a dry place and avoid exposing the blade to corrosive substances. Regularly clean dirt and debris from the blade and case to prolong readable graduations. For consistent accuracy, avoid bending the blade excessively and use the lock to minimise flex during longer measurements.
