The adapter delivers a consistent 20V output at up to 4.5A to maintain steady performance during battery charging and heavy workloads. Its 90W power rating supports sustained operation and helps prevent throttling when the laptop is under high CPU or GPU load. The compact external power brick and integrated cable management reduce clutter, and the unit includes standard safety protections against overvoltage, overheating, and short circuits to preserve device integrity.

Suitable for

• Powering and charging compatible Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptops
• Replacing a lost or damaged mains adapter at home or in the office
• Carrying as a spare charger for travel or remote work
• Maintaining consistent power delivery during intensive computing tasks

Key specifications

• Output voltage: 20V DC
• Output current: 4.5A
• Maximum power: 90W
• Connector type: laptop charging barrel or manufacturer-specified compatible plug
• Input: 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz (universal input for international use)

How to use

Connect the adapter to a suitable mains outlet using the supplied power cord or an appropriate regional cable. Plug the adapter’s output connector into the laptop’s power jack until it seats securely. Verify that the laptop indicates charging and that system power status reflects external power. For charging a depleted battery, allow the device to remain connected until the battery reaches the desired charge level. Disconnect the adapter from the mains before packing or storing.

Recommendations

Use the adapter on a flat, well-ventilated surface and avoid covering the power brick during operation to prevent overheating. Only use cables and connectors that are compatible with the laptop model. Replace the adapter if the cable insulation is damaged, the connector is loose, or the unit displays abnormal heat or noise. For optimal battery health, follow the laptop manufacturer’s charging guidelines.
