Nástenný IR pohybový senzor Steinel MD IR4360-8 (MPN 086909)

The Steinel MD IR4360-8 is a wall-mounted infrared motion sensor designed to detect human presence and movement in indoor and covered outdoor areas. Using passive infrared (PIR) technology, the unit senses temperature changes caused by moving bodies and provides a reliable switching signal for lighting or security systems. The compact design and wall installation make it suitable for corridors, entrance areas, stairwells and sheltered outdoor walkways where automated presence detection is required.

Advantages

The sensor offers passive infrared detection for energy-efficient automatic switching of lights and alarms. Its wall-mounted form factor enables discrete placement at typical mounting heights, while detection performance is optimised for corridor and entrance geometry. Built for compatibility with standard lighting control circuits, the device simplifies installation in retrofit and new-install scenarios and reduces manual intervention for recurrent on/off switching.

Suitable for

• Corridors and hallways in residential and commercial buildings
• Entrance areas and foyers
• Stairwells and landings
• Sheltered outdoor walkways and covered carports
• Utility rooms, storage areas and technical spaces

Key specifications

• Detection principle: passive infrared (PIR) presence detection
• Mounting: wall-mounted installation
• Coverage: suited for corridor and entrance zone coverage geometry
• Typical applications: lighting automation and security activation
• Environment: indoor and covered outdoor use

How to use

Install the sensor on a stable wall surface at the recommended mounting height for corridor and entrance coverage. Connect the unit to the lighting or security control circuit in accordance with local electrical codes and the manufacturer's wiring instructions. Adjust sensor position and angle to avoid direct sunlight or heat sources within the field of view that could cause false triggers. After power-up, verify detection by walking through the coverage area and confirm that the connected load responds as intended.

Recommendations

For reliable detection, position the sensor to face the main traffic path and avoid obstructions in the detection zone. Use the unit for automated lighting in corridors and entrances to reduce energy use and for basic presence-triggered security functions. Regularly check mounting and wiring for signs of wear and ensure the sensor lens remains clean to maintain performance.
