Neutral Density (ND4) filter Freewell FW-L1-ND4 pre Real Locking VND

The Freewell ND4 filter for Real Locking VND reduces light by 2 stops to help control exposure when shooting in brighter conditions. It uses True Color optics to maintain natural color balance and avoid color casts, making it suitable for partly cloudy days or when a slight darkening is needed without altering contrast.

Advantages

The Real Locking ND4 integrates with the Real Locking system for a secure, non-rotating fit. Installation is quick and tool-free via side tabs that snap the filter onto the L1 base ring or onto the Real Locking VND/CPL extension. A compact shockproof case protects the filter during storage and transport, and the included cleaning cloth helps keep the optics clear.

Recommendations

Use the Freewell ND4 filter when you need a modest exposure reduction (2 stops) while preserving natural colors. Store the filter in the supplied shockproof case and avoid touching the optical surfaces directly to maintain image quality.
