Ostrič nožov Adler AD 4489

Knife sharpener Adler AD 4489 is a compact, manual two-stage tool for sharpening and polishing kitchen knives. Weighing 230 g and measuring 75 × 75 mm, it is easy to handle and store. The sharpener combines a coarse carbide stage for restoring edges and removing damage with a fine ceramic stage for honing and polishing, so one device covers both pre-sharpening and finishing.

Advantages

The Adler AD 4489 offers a two-step system that eliminates the need to buy separate sharpeners. Its manual design requires no power source and provides fast, repeatable results by simply pulling the blade through the designated slots. Durable materials — carbide for the coarse stage and ceramic for the fine stage — ensure efficient removal of nicks and consistent edge refinement for a sharp, even finish.

Suitable for

• Home kitchen knives (chef, utility, paring)
• Everyday maintenance of blunted blades
• Restoring minor edge damage and nicks
• Quick on-the-spot sharpening without electricity

How to use

Place the sharpener on a stable, flat surface. Hold the handle or body firmly with one hand and position the knife blade in the coarse (carbide) slot at the base of the edge to repair and reshape the bevel if needed. Pull the blade through the slot from heel to tip with light, steady pressure, repeating a few times until the edge is restored. Then move to the fine (ceramic) slot and pull the blade the same way to hone and polish the edge. Wipe the blade clean after sharpening.

Recommendations

For best results, sharpen knives regularly according to use frequency; use the coarse stage only when the edge requires reshaping or removal of damage, and finish with the fine stage for daily maintenance. Avoid excessive pressure and repeated passes once the edge is sharp to preserve blade geometry.
