Pohybový senzor Steinel 066048 IP54 180° IR – nástenný/stropný prítomnostný detektor

Steinel 066048 is a passive infrared (IR) motion sensor with IP54 protection and a 180° detection angle, designed for wall or ceiling mounting. The presence detector monitors movement and switches lighting or alarm circuits accordingly. Its IP54-rated enclosure makes it suitable for indoor spaces and sheltered outdoor areas where protection against dust and water splashes is required. The compact design and wide detection angle allow it to cover corridors, entrances and covered outdoor zones while reducing manual switching and saving energy.

Advantages

The sensor offers a 180° field of view for broad coverage and passive infrared detection for reliable motion sensing of humans and larger heat sources. The IP54 rating ensures resistance to dust and water splashes, making the unit appropriate for sheltered outdoor mounting as well as indoor use. The device can be mounted on walls or ceilings to adapt to different installation scenarios and automate lighting or security functions without continuous manual control.

Suitable for

• Corridors and stairwells in residential or commercial buildings
• Entrances, lobbies and reception areas
• Covered outdoor areas such as porches and carports
• Automated lighting for energy-saving and convenience

Key specifications

• Detection type: passive infrared (PIR/IR)
• Detection angle: 180°
• Mounting options: wall or ceiling
• Protection class: IP54 (dust protected, splash water resistant)

How to use

Install the motion sensor on a wall or ceiling at a location that provides unobstructed view of the area to be monitored. Connect the sensor into the lighting or control circuit following applicable wiring standards and the manufacturer’s installation instructions. Adjust sensitivity and time settings if available on the model to match the traffic patterns of the space. After installation, verify detection coverage by walking through the monitored area and confirm lights or connected systems respond as expected.

Recommendations

Mount at a height and position that minimizes false triggers from heating sources, moving objects, or pets. For sheltered outdoor use ensure the sensor is protected from direct rain and heavy spray despite its IP54 rating. Periodically check and clean the lens to maintain consistent detection performance.
