Pracovná stanica Lenovo ThinkStation P8 – 128 GB DDR5-6400, 1 TB SSD, Windows 11 Pro, 4,5 GHz

Lenovo ThinkStation P8 is a professional desktop workstation configured for demanding CAD, 3D rendering and data‑intensive workflows. It is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9955WX processor with 16 cores and 32 threads, a base clock of 4.5 GHz (boost up to 5.4 GHz), 128 GB of DDR5‑6400 ECC memory (2 × 64 GB) and a 1 TB NVMe SSD on a PCIe 5.0 interface. The system ships with Windows 11 Pro and includes a 1000 W power supply to support high loads and expansion.

Advantages

The configuration combines a high-core-count Threadripper PRO CPU with fast DDR5 memory and a PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD to deliver responsive performance for multi-threaded compute tasks and large datasets. ECC memory increases reliability for long compute runs, while the 1000 W power supply provides headroom for additional components and sustained workloads.

Suitable for

• CAD and computer‑aided design workflows
• 3D modelling and rendering
• Scientific computing and data analysis
• Virtualization and multi‑tasking with heavy memory demands

When it may not be suitable

This workstation is designed for professional and compute‑intensive use; it may be oversized for casual office tasks, web browsing or simple multimedia consumption. If your needs are limited to light productivity or gaming without large dataset processing, a lower‑spec desktop could be more cost‑effective.

Key specifications

• Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9955WX, 16 cores / 32 threads, base 4.5 GHz, boost up to 5.4 GHz
• Memory: 128 GB DDR5‑6400 ECC (2 × 64 GB)
• Storage: 1 TB M.2 2280 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD
• Operating system: Windows 11 Pro (preinstalled)
• Power supply: 1000 W
• Network: Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps)
• Weight: 22.7 kg

How to use

Install the workstation on a stable surface with adequate ventilation and connect power and network cables. Use Windows 11 Pro for system setup and install required drivers from Lenovo or Windows Update. For best performance in CAD, rendering or compute applications, enable ECC memory support in BIOS if applicable, install up‑to‑date application versions optimized for multi‑core processors, and configure storage and scratch locations on the NVMe SSD. Regularly apply system and driver updates and monitor temperatures under heavy load.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm required expansion slots and connectivity for future GPUs or add‑in cards
• Check software licensing and compatibility with AMD Threadripper PRO processors
• Evaluate cooling and rack/desk space given the workstation weight and power supply
• Decide whether additional or different storage (e.g., larger NVMe or RAID) is needed

Recommendations

For sustained multi‑threaded workloads, keep system airflow clear, use validated drivers for professional applications, and schedule large renders or analyses during off‑peak hours to avoid thermal throttling and ensure consistent performance.
