Riser karta Supermicro RSC-WR-6 PCIe x16 - serverová riser karta pre PCI-Express rozšírenie

Supermicro Riser Card RSC-WR-6 provides a PCI Express x16 slot extension for compatible Supermicro server motherboards, enabling installation of a full-length PCIe x16 add-on card when a direct motherboard slot is unavailable. The riser is intended for system expansion tasks such as adding network adapters, storage controllers or GPU accelerators, subject to compatibility with the host chassis, power delivery and BIOS support.

Advantages

The riser card offers a compact way to add a PCIe x16 interface without modifying the motherboard layout, preserving server density and airflow. It allows use of standard full-length PCIe cards in systems limited to onboard connectors or different slot orientations. The design reduces the need for custom cabling and keeps the installation as an integrated board-level solution.

Suitable for

• Installing additional network interface cards (10GbE/25GbE) where motherboard slots are occupied
• Adding SAS/SATA storage controller cards to expand direct-attached storage
• Deploying accelerator or GPU cards in compatible server chassis with sufficient power and cooling
• Situations requiring relocation of a PCIe x16 slot for rack or blade servers with constrained internal layouts

When it may not be suitable

This riser is only appropriate for Supermicro server motherboards and chassis that explicitly support the RSC-WR-6 or equivalent riser form factor; it may not fit or function correctly in non-compatible systems. Performance and device support depend on the host motherboard's PCIe lane allocation, BIOS settings and available power — high-power GPUs or cards with specific firmware requirements may require direct motherboard slots or additional power delivery not provided by the riser.

Key specifications

• PCI Express interface: x16 electrical connection
• Form factor: server riser card designed for compatible Supermicro chassis
• Supported add-on cards: full-length PCIe x16 cards (subject to chassis clearance)
• Typical use: expansion for networking, storage controllers, accelerators
• Connection type: board-to-board riser interface compatible with designated motherboard slot

How to use

Install the riser by aligning its board-to-board connector with the designated riser slot on a compatible Supermicro motherboard and secure it according to the server chassis mounting points. Insert the PCIe x16 add-on card into the riser slot, ensuring full seating and any required retention brackets are fastened. After physical installation, verify that the system BIOS/UEFI recognizes the added card and that any necessary drivers or firmware are installed in the operating system. Confirm adequate power and cooling before placing the server into production.

What to consider before purchase

• Confirm that your Supermicro motherboard and chassis explicitly support this riser form factor and connector orientation
• Ensure the intended PCIe card fits within chassis clearance and that the riser supports required power delivery
• Check BIOS/UEFI compatibility and lane allocation on the motherboard for x16 devices
• Verify cooling and power capacity for high-power expansion cards

Recommendations

Use the riser in systems with verified mechanical and electrical compatibility. For storage and networking cards, standard installation is usually sufficient; for GPUs and high-power accelerators, confirm additional power cables, airflow and firmware support before deployment.
