ROLINE 12021163 sériový kábel sivý 1,8 m USB Type-A DB-9

The ROLINE 12021163 is a 1.8 m serial cable with a USB Type-A connector on one end and a DB-9 (RS-232) connector on the other. It provides a straightforward wired interface for connecting computers or hubs with USB Type-A ports to legacy serial devices that use a 9-pin D-sub connection. The cable’s grey colour and standard length make it suitable for office and home installations where a reliable serial link is required.

Advantages

This cable converts a USB Type-A port to a DB-9 serial interface without requiring complex setup, offering compatibility with a wide range of RS-232 devices. The 1.8 m length balances reach and cable management for desktop and rack environments. The neutral grey jacket is easy to blend into professional workspaces.

Suitable for

• Connecting PCs or laptops with USB Type-A to serial devices (modems, industrial controllers, barcode scanners)
• Configuration and maintenance of networking or industrial equipment with DB-9 ports
• Office and home setups that require a wired serial connection

How to use

If the host operating system requires drivers for USB-to-serial conversion, install the appropriate driver following the manufacturer’s instructions. Once recognised, use standard terminal or configuration software to communicate with the serial device.

Recommendations

For stable operation, avoid sharp bends and keep the cable away from strong electromagnetic sources. Verify driver compatibility with your operating system before deployment and route the cable to minimise trip hazards in shared workspaces.
