Reducer pre Skywatcher Evostar 72ED 0,85x — fokálny reduktor pre refraktorové teleskopy

Focal reducer for Skywatcher Evostar 72ED 0.85x is a dedicated optical accessory designed to shorten the focal length of compatible Evostar 72ED refractor telescopes by approximately 15%. Installed between the telescope and the camera or eyepiece, this reducer lowers the effective focal ratio, widens the field of view and reduces required exposure times for imaging. The unit is intended specifically for use with Skywatcher Evostar 72ED 72 mm ED refractors and provides a practical way to capture wider sky areas while maintaining the telescope's optical performance.

Advantages

The reducer decreases the focal length and focal ratio uniformly across the field, making full-frame and APS-C sensor coverage more practical for wide-field astrophotography. It enables shorter exposure times and broader framing without requiring a different objective or complex modification of the telescope. The mechanical interface is designed for straightforward placement between the telescope drawtube and camera or visual eyepiece, allowing quick installation and removal for visual observing or imaging sessions.

Suitable for

• Wide-field astrophotography with Skywatcher Evostar 72ED refractors
• Reducing exposure times for deep-sky imaging on small telescopes
• Visual observing when a wider field of view is desired
• Use with DSLR, mirrorless cameras or dedicated astronomy cameras

Key specifications

• Reduction factor: 0.85x (approximately 15% shorter focal length)
• Compatibility: designed for Skywatcher Evostar 72ED refractor telescopes
• Optical role: focal reducer to lower effective focal ratio for wider field
• Mounting: inline placement between telescope drawtube and camera or eyepiece
• Intended use: wide-field imaging and visual observation with reduced focal ratio

How to use

To use the focal reducer, remove any existing visual back or extension and insert the reducer into the telescope drawtube following the manufacturer’s mounting orientation. Attach the camera or eyepiece to the reducer’s output connection and verify secure mechanical coupling. After installation, adjust focus on the camera or eyepiece as the focal plane shifts due to the reduced focal length. For photographic use, reframe and refocus using live view or short test exposures before committing to long exposures. For visual use, perform minor focus adjustments at the eyepiece to achieve a sharp image across the field.

Recommendations

Use the reducer specifically with the Skywatcher Evostar 72ED optical tube to ensure optimal image quality. Check backfocus and spacing between the reducer and camera sensor or eyepiece to achieve proper focus and minimize field curvature. For best photographic results, verify collimation and ensure stable mounting; short exposures are often sufficient for bright deep-sky targets when using the reducer. Avoid forcing incompatible adapters—confirm thread sizes and mechanical fit before use.
