Refraktorový teleskop Skywatcher Esprit 80mm F/5 OTA – 80 mm apertúra, F/5 optický tubus

Skywatcher Esprit 80mm F/5 OTA is an 80 mm aperture refractor optical tube assembly with an F/5 focal ratio designed for wide-field visual observation and astrophotography. As an OTA (optical tube assembly), it supplies the optical core for use with compatible equatorial or alt-azimuth mounts. The fast focal ratio and 80 mm objective make this instrument suitable for imaging star fields, large nebulae and other extended deep-sky objects, while remaining compact and portable for field use.

Advantages

The optical design prioritizes a wide, well-corrected field with a fast F/5 focal ratio, enabling shorter exposure times when used for imaging. The 80 mm aperture balances light-gathering capability and portability, offering a useful compromise for both visual observing and astrophotography. As an OTA, it provides a ready-to-mount optical train that can be combined with a variety of mounts and accessories, allowing users to match the tube to their preferred tracking and imaging setup.

Suitable for

• Wide-field astrophotography of star fields and large nebulae
• Visual observation of open clusters and large deep-sky objects
• Portable imaging sessions from dark-sky sites or backyard setups
• Use as a photographic refractor on equatorial and alt-azimuth mounts

Key specifications

• Type: Apochromatic refractor optical tube assembly
• Aperture: 80 mm
• Focal ratio: F/5
• Optical purpose: wide-field imaging and visual observation
• Compatibility: designed for mounting on standard equatorial and alt-azimuth mounts (mount not included)
• Form factor: lightweight and portable OTA suitable for field use

How to use

Mount the Esprit 80mm F/5 OTA on a stable equatorial or alt-azimuth mount capable of supporting the tube and accessories. Balance the assembly with any attached cameras or focal reducers before slewing to targets. For imaging, attach a dedicated astro camera or DSLR to the focuser, achieve precise focus using a mask or electronic focuser, and perform polar alignment if long exposures are planned. For visual observing, fit an eyepiece or diagonal and focus normally.

Recommendations

For best astrophotography results, use a stable mount with accurate tracking, perform careful focusing and calibration (flats/darks/bias as needed), and select targets that benefit from a wide-field F/5 refractor. Regular collimation checks and dew protection help maintain consistent optical performance in the field.
