Spoločenská hra Ravensburger Scotland Yard

Ravensburger Scotland Yard is a deduction-based board game that places players in a cooperative pursuit across a detailed map of London. One player assumes the role of Mr. X, moving secretly using a concealed log, while the remaining players act as detectives who share information and coordinate moves to locate and capture him. The game combines strategic planning, memory, and teamwork in rounds of movement using taxi, bus and underground connections shown on the board.

Advantages

The game emphasizes collaborative strategy and logical reasoning, offering clear rules suitable for family play from age 8 and up. Compact components and a well-designed game board provide intuitive navigation of London's transport network. Play sessions are time-efficient, typically fitting within a single evening, and the hidden-movement mechanic creates suspense without complex bookkeeping. Components are durable and designed for repeated use.

Suitable for

• Family game nights with children aged 8 and older
• Small groups of 3 to 6 players seeking cooperative deduction gameplay
• Educational play focused on logic, planning and teamwork
• Casual game sessions that last approximately 45–90 minutes

Key specifications

• Player count: supports multiple players with one hidden role
• Recommended age: suitable for players aged 8 and above
• Typical play time: medium-length sessions designed for evening play
• Game mechanics: hidden movement, deduction, cooperative play
• Components: printed game board with London transport map, player tokens, movement tokens and log for hidden movement

How to use

Set the board on a flat surface and place detective tokens at their starting positions. A single player takes the Mr. X role and records moves secretly on the concealed log while detectives use visible tokens to move by taxi, bus or underground along the network. Players take turns, using shared information and occasional revealed locations to narrow down possible positions. The game ends when detectives land on Mr. X's location, when Mr. X cannot move according to the rules, or when move rounds are exhausted.

Recommendations

For balanced play, rotate the role of Mr. X between sessions so all players experience both hidden and detective roles. Use a stable table and good lighting to read the map and movement tokens clearly. Review the rule summary before starting to ensure smooth turns and maintain the intended pace of play.
