How to use

Install the 9100 PRO into an M.2 PCIe slot that supports PCIe 5.0 x4 or a compatible PCIe slot on your PC, laptop, or PlayStation® 5 following the device manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the heatsink fits within your system’s clearance (8.8 mm total thickness). After physical installation, initialize and format the drive in your operating system, then install Samsung Magician to migrate data, apply firmware updates and monitor drive health. For consoles such as PlayStation® 5, follow Sony’s guidance for M.2 SSD installation and formatting.

Recommendations

For optimal sustained performance, use the drive in systems with adequate cooling and PCIe 5.0 support. Keep firmware updated via Samsung Magician and allow sufficient airflow around the M.2 slot when using high-capacity or heavy workload scenarios.

Verdikt: The Samsung 9100 Pro is a fantastic SSD, and if it weren't for the high price, it would have been a slam dunk. It's the fastest SSD I've ever tested when it comes to raw performance benchmarks, and its system drive and game load speed tops the charts too...
