Choose the correct burn format (data disc, audio CD–DA conversion not applicable, or DVD‑Video) and set the write speed; for best reliability, select a speed equal to or lower than the maximum supported by your drive and media. Finalize the disc if you intend to use it in standalone DVD players. Label the disc on the printable surface with a soft‑tip permanent marker; avoid pressing on the recorded surface.

Recommendations

Store discs in their spindle or jewel cases in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Handle discs by the outer edge or center hole to reduce fingerprints and scratches. For archival purposes, verify burned data after writing and consider creating redundant backups on additional media or cloud storage.
