The EFB Elektronik OFF-1866TS.V1RW is an 18U freestanding rack cabinet designed to store and organize networking and electronic equipment. With external dimensions of 600 mm width, 600 mm depth and 871 mm height, this compact rack offers 18U of mounting space in a freestanding format. The cabinet has an IP20 protection rating and a maximum supported equipment weight of 45 kg, and comes in a black finish suitable for office, server room or telecommunication environments.

Advantages

The freestanding construction allows flexible placement without the need for wall-mounting and provides stable support for mounted equipment. The 18U rack capacity gives space for multiple small servers, switches or patch panels while keeping a relatively small footprint. The IP20 rating provides basic protection against solid objects and dust typical for indoor installations. Its 600 x 600 mm footprint and 871 mm height make it compatible with standard 19-inch rack equipment while occupying minimal floor space.

Suitable for

• Small server rooms and network closets
• Office IT cabinets for switches, routers and patch panels
• Telecommunications equipment and media distribution
• Laboratory or workshop setups requiring organized rack mounting

How to use

Position the freestanding rack on a flat, stable surface that can safely bear the combined weight of the cabinet and installed equipment. Install standard 19-inch mounting rails at the required U positions to accept servers, switches, patch panels and other rack-mount devices. Distribute equipment weight evenly and secure units with appropriate screws or cage nuts. Ensure ventilation around active components and allow clearance at the rear for cable routing. For safety, avoid exceeding the specified maximum supported equipment weight of 45 kg.

Recommendations

Use the rack indoors in dry environments consistent with IP20 protection. Plan rack layout before installation, reserve space for cable management and cooling, and follow manufacturer guidance for mounting hardware. For heavy or heat-generating equipment, consider additional ventilation or a larger-capacity cabinet to maintain performance and serviceability.
