Externý pevný disk Western Digital 44 TB USB Type-A USB Type-C My Book Duo

The Western Digital My Book Duo external hard drive provides very high-capacity storage for photos, videos, documents and music. It supports USB Type-C and includes both Type-C to Type-C and Type-C to Type-A cables, and offers flexible RAID configurations (default RAID-0 for performance, RAID-1 for redundancy or JBOD) managed via WD Drive Utilities. The enclosure includes two RAID-optimized WD Red drives and two USB 3.0 Type-A hub ports for connecting accessories.

Advantages

Large single-cable capacity (up to 44 TB) allows consolidation of media libraries and backups. Default RAID-0 mode provides high sequential read speeds (up to 360 MB/s under USB Type-C conditions indicated by the manufacturer) while RAID-1 offers data mirroring for redundancy. The drive uses RAID-optimized WD Red drives for improved two-disk array reliability and includes hardware 256-bit AES encryption with WD Security for password-protected data protection. Built-in USB 3.0 hub ports increase connectivity for peripherals.

Suitable for

• Backing up multiple computers and consolidating large media libraries
• Photographers and videographers storing DSLR, action camera or drone footage
• Users who need fast transfers via USB Type-C or compatibility with USB Type-A systems
• Environments requiring optional redundancy (RAID-1) or maximum performance (RAID-0)

How to use

Connect the My Book Duo to your computer using the provided USB Type-C cable or the Type-C to Type-A cable. The drive ships in RAID-0 by default for maximum performance; to change the configuration to RAID-1 or JBOD, install and run the included WD Drive Utilities software and follow the reconfiguration steps. Use WD Security to set a password and enable 256-bit AES hardware encryption. Access the two USB 3.0 Type-A hub ports on the front or rear of the enclosure to attach peripherals or additional storage devices as needed.

Recommendations

For reliable long-term use, verify backups before reformatting or changing RAID modes, ensure firmware and WD software are up to date, and consider RAID-1 if data redundancy is required. Use a surge-protected power source and safely eject the drive from the operating system before disconnecting.
