AV vysielač a prijímač ATEN VE883AK2 True 4K HDMI Optical Extender 4K@300m 10km

The ATEN VE883AK2 True 4K HDMI Optical Extender is a transmitter and receiver pair designed to extend HDMI video, audio, USB 2.0, IR, RS-232 and Gigabit Ethernet signals over a single duplex fiber optic cable. It supports resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz (4:4:4) and offers two distance options: multimode up to 300 m (VE883AK1) or single-mode up to 10 km (VE883AK2). The compact units include HDMI I/O, analog audio I/O, dual USB Type-A ports, IR, RS-232 and Gigabit Ethernet connectors, and use pluggable SFP+ modules for optical connection. Fiber optic transmission provides electrical isolation and immunity to RFI/EMI, making the extender suitable for professional AV installations such as control rooms, factories and hospitals.

Advantages

The VE883A delivers lossless True 4K video over long distances while preventing lag and freezing through ATEN’s FarSmooth technology, which matches output rates to input rates for stable, smooth displays. Fiber optic connectivity reduces cable bulk and eliminates ground loop and electromagnetic interference issues. Dual USB ports expand connectivity for peripherals, and compatibility with ATEN VM7584/VM8584 optical boards enables integration with modular matrix switches.

Suitable for

• Long-distance 4K HDMI extension in control rooms and command centers
• AV distribution in hospitals and medical facilities requiring electrical isolation
• Industrial environments and factories with high RFI/EMI where fiber isolation is needed
• Integration with ATEN modular matrix switches using optical I/O boards

How to use

Install the transmitter (VE883AT) near the HDMI source and the receiver (VE883AR) near the display. Insert the provided SFP+ modules and connect the units using a compatible duplex fiber optic cable with LC connectors. Connect HDMI, audio, USB, IR, RS-232 and Ethernet cables to the corresponding ports on each unit. Power on both units and verify video and peripheral connectivity; FarSmooth technology will synchronize output to input rates to maintain stable 4K video. For matrix integration, install the VE883A units with ATEN VM7584/VM8584 optical I/O boards as required.

Recommendations

Use multimode fiber for runs up to 300 m and single-mode fiber for distances up to 10 km. Ensure SFP+ modules and fiber type (single-mode or multimode) match the selected range. For reliable high-bandwidth 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) performance, use high-quality LC-terminated duplex fiber, maintain clean connectors, and route fibers away from physical stress and sharp bends.
