Gateway/Controller Axis 01964-002

AXIS W800 System Controller is the central integration and management point for a body-worn camera solution. The controller has a modular design that enables a flexible and highly scalable system. A single AXIS W800 supports up to five docking stations and up to 40 cameras, and multiple system controllers can be combined to expand capacity for larger deployments.

Advantages

The AXIS W800 offers modular scalability, centralized management, and support for a significant number of docking stations and cameras. Its design allows easy expansion by adding additional system controllers. The unit supports standard network protocols and robust encryption for secure data handling, and includes a 480 GB SSD for local storage.

Suitable for

• Body-worn camera systems for law enforcement and security teams
• Organizations requiring centralized management of multiple docking stations and cameras
• Scalable deployments where capacity may grow over time

How to use

Install the AXIS W800 in a suitable network environment and connect it to the LAN using the RJ-45 ports. Attach docking stations to the controller according to the system design (up to five docking stations per controller) and register body-worn cameras in the management interface. Configure network settings (IPv4/IPv6), storage options on the 480 GB SSD, and security settings including 256-bit AES encryption. For larger systems, install additional AXIS W800 controllers and link them according to Axis integration guidelines.

Recommendations

Ensure the controller is deployed in a dust-protected environment consistent with its IP3X rating, keep firmware up to date, and follow Axis documentation for secure network configuration and scalable system expansion.
