HDD puzdro Silverstone RM22-308 2,5/3,5 palca 10 diskov čierna biela

The Silverstone RM22-308 HDD enclosure is a 2U rack-mount chassis designed to house up to ten 2.5" or 3.5" storage drives. It supports mixed SAS and SATA connectivity with Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 interfaces and a 12 Gbit/s per-link data transfer rate. The front panel provides multiple hot-swappable drive bays, an additional slim optical drive bay and handles for easier access to internal components. The unit ships with multiple PWM fans arranged for front-to-back airflow and includes reserved mounting holes for optional sliding rails, making it suitable for standard rack installations in server rooms and storage arrays.

Advantages

The chassis supports hot-swap operation and a backplane compatible with SAS and SATA drives, enabling flexible drive management and quick servicing without system downtime. Pre-installed PWM fans and a front-to-back cooling layout promote effective heat dissipation across densely populated drive bays. The rack-optimized 2U height, dedicated mounting points for sliding rails and compact footprint allow integration into existing 19" rack systems. Available in black or white finishes, the enclosure provides a professional appearance for server racks and storage cabinets.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business storage servers and backup arrays
• Home lab and prosumer NAS systems requiring multiple 2.5"/3.5" drives
• Environments needing hot-swap drive replacement and accessible maintenance
• Rack-mounted installations where 2U space and rail compatibility are required

Key specifications

• Drive capacity: up to 10 drives (2.5" and 3.5" supported)
• Drive bay layout: 8 hot-swappable 3.5" bays plus 1 slim ODD bay (distinctive front panel layout)
• Backplane interfaces: SAS and SATA support via Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 x2
• Data transfer rate: up to 12 Gbit/s per link
• Cooling: three pre-installed 80 mm x 38 mm PWM fans with front-to-back airflow
• Form factor: 2U rack-mount chassis with reserved mounting holes for sliding rails
• Hot-swap: supported for front-accessible drive bays
• Color options: black and white

How to use

Mount the enclosure in a standard 19" rack using the front ears or install optional sliding rails into the reserved mounting holes. Connect the host system to the backplane using compatible Mini-SAS HD SFF-8643 cables and ensure proper power connections. Install 2.5" or 3.5" SAS/SATA drives into the front bays and engage the hot-swap trays; drives will be recognized by the host controller according to its configuration. Maintain the front-to-back airflow by keeping intake and exhaust paths clear and by following standard rack wiring and grounding practices.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use drives and host controllers that support 12 Gbit/s SAS/SATA signaling and SGPIO for activity/LED reporting. Maintain adequate rack ventilation and avoid blocking front or rear airflow; replace or inspect PWM fans periodically. When performing hot-swap operations, follow your operating system or RAID controller procedures to safely remove and insert drives to prevent data loss.
